One Woman's Journey (Part 1)
One Woman’s Journey I would like to share with you a journey of the heart which has been unfolding since September 11th, 2001 - its origins began years before that world-changing day. In my work in movement therapy, I have always felt most connected and fulfilled in working with those healing from sexual and violent abuse. At the same time, I have for years felt a powerful affinity for women as the carriers of healing energy, as the containers of embodied spirituality, as they who hold the suffering and joyous hearts of families, communities, and nations. I have been contemplating and cultivating embodied presence through Buddhist practice and our shared somatic work and play. On 9/11, I felt grateful that, living outside of New York, I was relatively safe. On the other hand, I wanted to be right there, at "Ground Zero", immediately. And so I immediately sought a way to be a part of the relief...
